In May 2014 I was invited by Joey Borensztajn to attend a gathering at his home focusing on Yad Vashem activities, including the recently opened Australian section of the Memorial Cave.
I was deeply moved by the Memorial Cave initiative and the opportunity to dedicate a plaque to 64 members of my father’s family who perished in the Holocaust without a proper burial or consecration. I felt a huge responsibility to acknowledge these family members, and to commemorate their existence, which was so cruelly denied to them. Additionally, I wanted this plaque to provide future generations with an important record of their family history.
It is an honour and a privilege to have a plaque in the Memorial Cave. I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity by Yad Vashem.
